Zanaprin over Xanaz? (2024)

Question posted by crsj78 on 5 June 2010

I have recently been researching a drug called Zanaprin by Lazarus Labs. The company says their drug is a safe alternative to Xanax or Valium. However, I have yet to find any creditable customer reviews and am very skeptical of trying this drug. (Most of the information on Zanaprin, on other forums and boards, seems to be a bunch of SPAM from particular sellers of this drug; hence my skepticism) I have been taking Xanax for several years, for my panic attacks, and would like to find a non-habit forming alternative that has the same results as Xanax. If anyone has any good suggestions or has tried this Zanaprin please let me know. Thanks in advance.

My reply in short would be to "Run", do not walk to your nearest Pharmacy and ask a reputable Pharmacist about this medication. It's safer than taking the chance of being duped, that being the lesser evil, including some death from taking a drug not yet approved, probably from some country that does not regulate their drugs, hence the poor reviews from fellow forum posters. If that "little voice" is talking to you and giving you the heebie sheebies, follow your first instincts and do not buy this medication I wish you luck, BTW ,our first instincts are usually the best ones,so do not second guess your feelings. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your thoughts and advice. Very true about our instincts. There seems to be a growing market for alternatives to Xanax and I'm worried that these companies do not have the patients in mind. With that said, I will probably consult with my doctor and pharmacist more. I really do appreciate your taking the time to respond!

Needless to say, I am happy you're rethinking about your actions, I was worried about you! Good idea to always listen to "our inner voice', it speaks volumes! Blessing to you, and again, good luck> ((hugs))

Hi, I want to comment of your inquiry of Zanaprin. I am 41 years old. Last year I was admitted to the hospital. I thought I was having a heart attach.
I am not over weight. I am athletic, am not on any medications. An above normal woman. After a battery of tests, I was diagnosed with acute panic attacks. These were occuring mainly while I was sleeping and I was waking up a wreck. Infact, these have been going on over 2 decades - several personal .issues in life... I thought I was simply having breathing issues.

I was prescribed, .25 of Xanax to take 1 - 2 times daily. I struggled with taking this and finally relented after 4 months. took this medication for 4 months. It did help, but i wanted to try an alternative. I learned zanaprin is a pharmaceutical grade alternative to xanax. It is not a herbal alternative. If that is what you are looking for - go to a Whole Foods type supermarket and find Bach Flowers and the many medicinal properties covered by these.

I personally would recommend Zanaprin becasue what a positive effect it has had in my life. I stopped taking xanax for 2 months and resisted asking for a refill. I did begin to feel very edgy and was concerned that I actually wanted to take xanax - dependency.
The zanaprin did help curb those panic attacks in the evening and has helped me focus on not feel scattered or restless.

I have been taking it for less than a months and sincerely felt the difference in the first 2 days. All the best to you. I hope this helps.

The thing with 'natural' remedies and such things like that are that they dont have to go through the same rigorous screenings that medications that are RX-only do. So im not saying that its bad for sure, but there is a chance that its something that isnt good for you. It looks like great stuff, but honestly who knows. There arent even testimonials or anything like that...

These comments just go to prove my hunch was right. Thanks for your feedback. It was quite troublesome to find any reputable reviews on this drug and I guess that should tell me more than anything. Once again thank you for taking the time to comment.
